Cybersecurity & Automation Bootcamp — 4-Month Program
ArribamaxWhat you'll learn
A four-month bootcamp — an intensive taught foundation plus a supervised project phase — that turns trainees with basic IT and scripting ability into defenders who can secure, monitor and automate the full defensive + automation stack. Every hands-on task runs in sanctioned labs only.
- Explain core security principles (CIA triad, defence-in-depth, least privilege) and apply Security+ level knowledge.
- Operate confidently on Linux and networks, and capture and analyse packets with Wireshark.
- Perform authorised vulnerability assessment in a sanctioned lab and write a clear findings report.
- Work as a SOC analyst: ingest logs into a SIEM (Splunk), build searches and alerts, triage events and run incident response.
- Automate security and operations with Python, Bash and Ansible, and add security checks to a CI/CD pipeline.
- Plan and control delivery: estimation, sprint plans, risk registers and honest stakeholder reporting.
The defensive + automation stack
The exact tools Arribamax security engineers use on client engagements.
Program structure
The intensive taught phase runs across graded weekly checkpoints. Every day ends with an artefact committed to your Git portfolio.
Foundations
Networking & TCP/IP, the Linux command line, security fundamentals (CIA, threats, cryptography) and packet analysis.
Security Core
Security+ domains, web security (OWASP Top 10), authorised ethical-hacking foundations, Nmap and Wireshark.
Security Operations (SOC)
SOC roles, SIEM with Splunk, log analysis, detection engineering and incident response.
Automation
Python & Bash for security, Ansible hardening, CI/CD & DevSecOps, Docker — and a defend-and-automate capstone.
Managing Timelines & Project Outcomes
Agile/Scrum, estimation, sprint planning, risk and stakeholder communication. Each team exits with a Project Initiation Pack.
A training day
Four focused hours, run like a real Arribamax security team from Day 1 — in sanctioned environments only.
Non-negotiable: every training day ends with an artefact committed to your Git portfolio, and all offensive tooling is used only against authorised targets.
How you're graded
Continuous and evidence-based, in a Git portfolio.
Quiz pass mark is 70% with one retake after a mentor debrief.
Where this leads
Month 1 is the first quarter of a four-month path into an Arribamax security team.
Intensive training
This bootcamp — foundations, security core, SOC/SIEM, automation, and the defend-and-automate capstone.
Real project delivery
Assist Arribamax security engineers on live engagements and initiate a new production project, governed by your Project Initiation Pack.
Retention decision
Score 85+ and you're a priority retention candidate for client-facing security work; 75+ proceeds normally.

Before you start
- Not for absolute beginners — you'll be screened on basic IT literacy, simple scripting and networking basics.
- A machine that can run lab VMs (VirtualBox/VMware), Docker and Splunk.
- A signed Acceptable Use & Ethics agreement — all testing is lawful and authorised, in sanctioned environments only.
