Software Development Bootcamp — 4-Month Program

Arribamax
4 months 16 weeks 23 taught days 4 hrs/day guided 1 team capstone ✓ Certificate of Completion

What you'll learn

A four-month program — an intensive taught foundation plus a supervised project phase — that turns trainees with basic programming ability into team members who build and deliver like an Arribamax engineer.

  • Design, build, document and test a REST API with FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL — JWT authentication, role-based access, Alembic migrations.
  • Build a production-style frontend in React — components, hooks, routing, auth flows — and confidently navigate a Vue 3 codebase.
  • Integrate frontend and backend correctly: CORS, token handling, error and loading states.
  • Work as a professional team member: feature-branch Git workflow, pull requests, code reviews, pytest suites, Dockerised environments.
  • Plan and control delivery: estimation, sprint planning, risk registers, honest stakeholder reporting — the skills that protect project outcomes.

Program structure

The intensive taught phase runs across graded weekly checkpoints. Every training day ends with a commit pushed to GitHub.

1

Professional Foundations

Git & GitHub team workflow, modern JavaScript, SQL & PostgreSQL, HTTP/REST and first contact with FastAPI.

Quiz 1 + graded labs
2

Backend Engineering

FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, JWT auth, Alembic and pytest — building the Arribamax Blog API incrementally all week.

Quiz 2 + code review
3

Frontend with React

Components, hooks, state, routing and auth — consuming the API you built in Week 2, end to end.

Quiz 3 + live demo
4

Vue, Docker & Team Capstone

Vue 3 literacy, containerised environments, then a two-day team capstone — an Employee Leave Management System — presented at Demo Day.

Quiz 4 + Demo Day
5

Managing Timelines & Project Outcomes

Agile/Scrum, estimation, sprint planning, risk and stakeholder communication. Each team exits with a panel-reviewed Project Initiation Pack — the governing document of their Month 2–4 project.

Quiz 5 + panel review

A training day

Four focused hours, run like a real Arribamax delivery team from Day 1.

0:00 – 0:15Stand-up
0:15 – 2:00Video lessons — code along
2:00 – 3:30Hands-on lab
3:30 – 4:00Push · PR · review a teammate

Non-negotiable: every training day ends with a commit pushed to GitHub. Commit history, PR quality and review comments are audited weekly.

How you're graded

Continuous and evidence-based — no single exam decides your outcome.

Weekly quizzes (×5) 20%
Daily labs & GitHub discipline 20%
Capstone project + Demo Day 20%
Project Initiation Pack 15%
Collaboration & professionalism 15%
Week 3 live demo 10%

Quiz pass mark is 70% with one retake after a mentor debrief. Late daily deliverables cap at 50% unless a blocker was escalated at stand-up — the exact behaviour expected on live engagements.

Where this leads

Month 1 is the first quarter of a four-month path into an Arribamax delivery team.

Month 1

Intensive training

This course — foundations, the full stack, capstone, and delivery discipline.

Months 2–4

Real project delivery

Assist Arribamax developers on live engagements and initiate a new production project, governed by your Project Initiation Pack.

After Month 4

Retention decision

Score 85+ and you're a priority retention candidate for client-facing work; 75+ proceeds normally to the project phase.

Before you start

  • Not for absolute beginners — you'll be screened on Python basics, HTML/CSS and comfort with a terminal.
  • A laptop that can run Docker, PostgreSQL and Node.
  • A GitHub account — your daily work lives there from Day 1.
